Drew starts Kindergarten

On August 31st, Drew had his first day of Kindergarten!  We have been anticipating this day since he was born and now that it is here, it's really hard to let go!  My mom flew out from Denver to see her first grandchild attend his first day of school.  My sweet little boy is growing up!  I know that Drew will do great.  He is a really good boy and loves to learn, so I hope he gets the most out of his school experience.

I love that there is a playground area for 'Kindergartners only' right by their classrooms.

The children looked great in red, white and blue, thanks to 'standard school attire' the kids know that they have 'school clothes' and 'play clothes.'

Mrs. Rhoden read a book called "The Kissing Hand," about a raccoon that goes to school, it was so sweet.  Grandma Janet was crying so hard, she hid behind Blake.

The whole family was there to see Drew off.  His brothers look up to him so much!  All day, while Drew was in school, Luke asked where he was.  He really missed him.

One more hug and talk before we go. . . It was really hard to leave my little guy!

1st day done.  Many more to follow!
Drew had told us before school, that he wasn't feeling well.  We originally thought it was just 'first day jitters.'  However, after school he was still not himself and we took him to urgent care.  There we found out that he had strep throat!!!!  We couldn't believe we sent him to school like that and the guilt really sunk in. Drew was such a trooper to have an exhausting first day and to be sick on top of it!  He missed the next two days of school and had plenty of antibiotics that made him feel completely better.  It was a interesting week, for sure.  We are glad that NOW Drew is really enjoying school and feels 100%!
