We decided to put a spin on Cinco De Mayo by making some New Mexican food and having friends over to share in the fun. Since we only get home to Albuquerque once a year, I definitely get homesick sometimes. One of the things that I miss is the unique New Mexican cuisine with it's highly addictive green chile! We had so much fun eating, drinking and dancing to mucho musica de espanol!!

| The boys looked hilarious in their mustaches. I guess we now know what they will look like as grown men with manly facial hair....yikes! |
Luke looks just like my dad with his bigote!
 |
| I was showing the kids the moves I learned in Zumba class but they weren't really interested. |

Mikel showing our friend Christina how to properly douse a sopapilla in honey!

We love having get-togethers with other families, it's fun for the kids and the adults.
I bought some cheesy fiesta party favors.......we even had 'pin the tail on the donkey' for the kids.
Here's Blake dancing on the table with the his 'lady friends'!
This was such a great time. Since I am obsessed with the spicy food and Spanish music, I think we will continue to have a "New Mexican" party every year!
Adios!
Some of my favorite Mariachi tunes we played that night:
-
Sabor a mi
-Cielito lindo
-Baila me
-Puno de tierra
-Guantanamera
- Malaguena Salarosa (my absolute favorite!) Click on this link to hear it: :

This is not the best version of the song, but I love singing along to the words on this video. That high note is incredible!
The 'Kill Bill' version is also amazing, however it's a romantic song so I prefer the slower, acoustic one.
